February was a dramatic month for me... literally. I spent most of my time in theaters working on musicals and dramas. Unlike in past years, I straddled two shows at the same time - not the wisest plan, but I love acting so it was more fun than work. One of the shows I was in was a drama called Southern Girls which I performed at my local theater; the other was the romance comedy musical The Wedding Singer put on by my schools drama club. The shows were back to back so I literally finished one show and was on to the next. I think I’m going to start calling this part of the year “drama season” because it’s just as demanding as any sports season!
I’m wiped out and have weeks of homework and sleep to catch up on, so, although you all in the States may be complaining about this winter weather, I’m saying HALLELUJAH because due to “inclement weather” school has been closed for the past two days. I’ll take that as a blessing from the universe to rest up, which leads me to my first March Goal!
1. Rest up
Need I say more?
2. Tie up loose ends
I have a tendency to jump into new projects directly after completing older ones. Recently, I’ve been given the advice put away the metaphorical tools and tie up the metaphorical strings of old projects before moving on. For me, that means this month I need to wrap up all things related to “drama season” , my Girls Impact the World Documentary, and I need to finish the book I’ve (kinda) been reading for the past two months.
3. Study for the SAT like my life depends on It
…oh yeah my life does depend on it. I have about a month to study – ONE MONTH! – I’ve been doing a little bit here and there, I’m even enrolled in an SAT prep class but, I got to get down to it, seriously. I had a dream where a women form admissions at NYU was looking at my application, she said I was a top choice, but that I just needed to make sure I got a high SAT scores. I’ll take that dream as a message from higher intelligence telling me exactly what I need to do. So, expect a post on a one month SAT study plan.
4. Launch a few new projects (summer planning)
So I’m pretty sure my goals should stop right there with studying for the SAT but you know me! This summer is going to be busy because I have some big plans. First, I’m planning on doing some sort of acting or film camp and second, I’m going back to the home country, Nigeria, to film a travel documentary for my senior project! So, I need to plan. I will be applying for Grammy Camp this month which requires I make a short self advertising video and I’m planning this trip to Nigeria on my own which means I will be brainstorming ways to raise the funds. Note to Self: Goals 1 and 2 must come first!
5. Turn Seventeen!
That’s right bae my birthday is this month, March 30th to be exact. I'm going over the hill now…lol!
You're coming to Nigeria? Yay!
ReplyDeleteHopefully! It will be my first time back since...I can remember :)
