March Snows

We are now three days away  from  spring, but I don’t think winter is getting the message. Personally, I’ve  just decided to go with  it and  enjoying the day off form school - yet again. Here’s the little photo-shoot me and my sis had on this wintery, and snowy march day.

Ace the SAT: One Month and Counting

We are approaching testing season.  You  have a couple months, a few weeks, maybe even just two or three days until you will be in solitary confinement taking the five hour SAT exam that could nearly determine the rest of your life or at least your college experience! So, what do you do?

…you thank me because I just found your saving grace in a bottle...well a website, called Magoosh.com. Magoosh is a free online SAT prep site that offers lessons, practice quizzes, and advice on how to ace the test. The beautiful creators of this site even offer a beautiful little page called “SAT Study Plans” which offer  SAT study schedules depending on how long you have until you take the exam. The “One Month Study Schedule” for example, offers a day by day plan of what to study in order to improve your SAT score in a month. It's a miracle right!!!

Like I said, thank me because I'm sacrificing a lot by telling you this, I mean I could have been selfish...the SAT is a form of competition in the end, right?! But I'm doing this because your a loyal reader and I love you and wish you the best.

In my last post, studying for the SAT was my third  March Goal , well thanks to this sight I actually have a chance at success (once again a miracle)!
Here’s  the key -well link- to unlocking your SAT potential >>> SAT Study Plans <<< HAPPY STUDYING!

*** 3/15***
NOTICE: A couple people told me that to use Magoosh you had to buy a plan that cost $100! I was confused because when I signed up I didn't have to pay a cent! Turns out I first signed up through the Magoosh App where there appears to be a fault in their system. So, If you sign up for Magoosh through their app then you GET MAGOOSH FREE! >>> https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/magoosh-sat-prep-math-writing/id598068767?mt=8

Let me know how the Magoosh method is working for you! And did you hear about the changes coming to the SAT in 2016? Is the SAT even relevant anymore? Let me know what you think.

March Goals

March Goals
February was a dramatic month for me... literally. I spent most of my time in theaters working on musicals and dramas. Unlike in past years, I straddled two shows at the same time - not the wisest plan, but I love acting so it was more fun than work. One of the shows I was in was a drama called Southern Girls which I performed at my local theater; the other was the romance comedy musical The Wedding Singer put on by my schools drama club. The shows were back to back so I literally finished one show and was on to the next. I think I’m going to start calling this part of the year “drama season”  because it’s just as demanding as any sports season!

I’m wiped out and have weeks of homework and sleep to catch up on, so, although you all   in the States may be complaining about this winter weather, I’m saying HALLELUJAH because due to “inclement weather” school has been closed for the past two days. I’ll take that as a blessing from the universe to rest up, which leads me to my first March Goal!

1. Rest up

Need I say more?

2. Tie up loose ends

I have a tendency to jump into new projects directly after completing older ones. Recently, I’ve been given the advice put away the metaphorical tools and tie up the metaphorical strings of old projects before moving on. For me, that means this month I need to wrap up  all things related to “drama season” , my  Girls Impact the World Documentary,  and I need to finish the book I’ve (kinda) been reading for the past two months.

3. Study for the SAT like my life depends on It

…oh yeah my life does depend on it. I have about a month to study – ONE MONTH! – I’ve been doing a little bit here and there, I’m even enrolled in an SAT prep class but, I got to get down to it, seriously. I had a dream where a women form admissions at NYU was looking at my application, she said I was a top choice, but that  I just needed to make sure I got a high SAT scores. I’ll take that dream as a message from higher intelligence telling me exactly what I need to do. So, expect a post on a one month SAT study plan.

4. Launch a few new projects (summer planning)

So I’m pretty sure my goals should stop right there with studying for the SAT but you know me! This summer is going to be busy because I have some big plans. First, I’m planning on doing some sort of acting or film camp and second, I’m going back to the home country, Nigeria, to film a travel documentary for my senior project! So, I need to plan. I will be applying for Grammy Camp this month which requires I make a short self advertising video and I’m planning this trip to Nigeria on my own which means I will be brainstorming ways to  raise  the funds. Note to Self: Goals 1 and 2 must come first!

5. Turn Seventeen!

That’s right bae my birthday is this month, March 30th to be exact. I'm going over the hill now…lol!

So yeah, that’s definitely enough to keep me busy this month!

What’s on your list of Goals for March!?
